This document explains the environment settings for executing a PSM application on a PS Vita by students in a classroom, etc.

Installation of PSM SDK

  1. Install the PSM SDK in the PCs to be used by the administrator/students in advance.

Procedure for the Administrator's PC

  1. Refer to the SDK document "Preparation for Executing PSM Applications on Actual Devices" and use Publishing Utility to generate a Publisher Key.

  2. Refer to the SDK document "Setup for Executing with PlayStation(R)Vita" and download DevAssistant to each PS Vita.

Note: When downloading DevAssistant, there is no need to obtain individual Publisher Licenses, but individual developer registrations with PSN(SM) accounts registered on PS Vita systems are required.

  1. Connect a PS Vita to the administrator's PC using a USB cable.

    • Boot the PS Vita and start DevAssistant.

  2. Start Publishing Utility and open the [Key Management] panel.

    • Select "_PSM_DEFAULT_" in the list view on the left side.

    • Select the connected PS Vita.

    • Press the [Update Device Seed App Key] to generate an App Key.

      Perform this procedure for each PS Vita.

  3. Once App Keys are generated for each PS Vita system, press the [Export Key Ring] button to generate a Key Ring.

  4. Press the [Export Publisher Key] button to export a Publisher Key.

  5. Provide the exported Publisher Key and Key Ring to the students.

Procedure for the Students' PCs

  1. Connect a PS Vita to a PC used by a student. Also start DevAssistant.

  2. Start Publishing Utility and open the [Key Management] panel.

    • Press the [Import Publisher Key] button to import a Publisher Key received from the administrator.
    • Press the [Import Key Ring] button to import a Key Ring received from the administrator.

  3. The procedure is successful when an App Key is displayed in the list view on the right side.

Hereafter, it will be possible to use the student PC to run applications where the ApplicationID is _PSM_DEFAULT_.
